Let us know if / when you start getting any signs of dedicated cycle routes! Also good to know how many more people you’ll see cycling in Sydney. http://www.sydneycycleways.net/map/
Are you going via Wollongong? You dodged Canberra I see. Alex McNee at Natural Engine Speed Shop would have got you a beer 😉 Anyway he’ll totally understand that you have a schedule and hills and headwinds!
Love this comment..(!)
“The trailer is a real deadweight to pull up any incline and not noticing a flat tyre is probably an indication of how hard it is. You could probably take off both wheels and we would still not notice. Once you get to ‘this is really bl**dy hard’ then there’s nowhere else to go. “

Hi David. Our route will go direct to Sydney. Wollongong is a bit of a detour with more hills and after nearly 3000 meters of climbing over last three cycling days we are going the way of least resistance 😃. Plan is to cycle 75km today from Mittagong (current position) to Liverpool. Then 30km to hotel on Tuesday morning, drop off trailer and bags then cycle to Sydney Opera House.

All down hill now – we’ll sort of, think Susan should ease back a bit and get you to step up to the plate and take a bit more of the strain. It will be good for you to do a bit less strategising and a bit more actual doing – for once! Just joking, fantastic pictures last few posts, you are going to have a great library. Keep going cheers Willie

Hi Willie. On a tandem there are traditionally two named positions – the captain and the stoker. Despite all my persuasion Susan doesn’t want to go on the front. So unfortunately she is the stoker and it’s her job to pedal the captain to Sydney 😃
